About Misterwives:
MisterWives – Mandy Lee (Vocals), Etienne Bowler (Drums), Will Hehir (Bass) – began making music together in late 2012. Lee, the powerhouse vocalist, was born and raised in Queens and acts as the band’s principal songwriter. She studied songwriting and opera at NYC’s only specialized public high school for music and performing arts, laying a foundation for her incredible range and giving her the ability to explore a wide variety of vocal styles. Lee met Hehir through a mutual friend and shortly thereafter was introduced to Bowler, a Bronx native, while the two were working at restaurants a block away from one another in Manhattan. The three shared a mutual love for music and similar aesthetic sensibilities and banded together to form the core of MisterWives. When it came to time to round out the live band, Bowler brought old friends Jesse Blum (Keys/Trumpet/Accordion) and Marc Campbell (Guitar) on board.
They played their first show together in February of 2013 and signed to Photo Finish/Republic shortly after. Although a new band, their sound was focused and self-assured, quickly earning them a slew of blog love, including early nods from Pigeons and Planes, Earmilk, Neon Gold and more.  In October, the band hit the road with Half Moon Run on their first national tour. The tour ended with a two triumphant sets at last year’s CMJ before heading out for a six week stint with American Authors & The Royal Concept. They released their debut EP “Reflections” this January and were featured as the first iTunes “Single of the Week” of 2014. The lead single “Reflections” now boasts over 2 million plays on Spotify as the band continue to tour in between writing and recording their much anticipated debut full length album.

#Falconer announces final live shows

ProgPower USA 2015 appearance confirmed

ProgPower USA has announced the line up for ProgPower XVI, which will include Falconer's final live performance. A video featuring music from the bands announced so far can be found on facebook.com/ProgPowerUSA. The festival is scheduled to take place in Atlanta, GA September 11-12 next year. Tickets will go on sale on October 4 through Ticketmaster.

Falconer has released the following statement online:
"As the news has been dropped that we won’t continue as a live act we take the opportunity to explain, not that it really differs much from the state the band usually is in. The last show will take place at ProgPower USA in 2015.

"As I (Stefan Weinerhall) started Falconer in 1999 it was meant to be a studio project, I have always looked upon myself as a writer more than an artist, the creative work has been the reason and driving force. We started doing some shows after a while but never really going all in although the shows themselves was really rewarding, fun and filled with fond memories. It is due to conscious decisions that we have built the band up around our obligations, work schedules and family lives so there is no bitterness to this decision although the decisions were harder to make in the early years when everything started rolling. If we’re not a proper live act we’re better of as the studio project we were meant to be.

"The inconsistency of doing very few shows with huge gaps between them has meant that we’ve had to start up the rusty machinery from scratch each time. So now as we all are becoming grumpy old men, we realise that the output don’t match the input although the experiences from the past gigs have been great!

"We owe it to our fans and ourselves to do some more appearances before becoming even more reclusive than we already are, haha! So for 2015 we have looked into our windows of opportunity and seen which festivals we CAN do. Those festivals are now contacted and know of the exclusivity in the offer. So with this I hope that those of you who really want to catch us a last time will succeed, even though we haven’t directly booked a world tour!

"Cheers from the metal minstrels from the north!"
Stefan, Mathias, Karsten, Jimmy and Magnus

Falconer's most recent album, “Black Moon Rising" was released in June of this year and can be previewed and purchased at metalblade.com/falconer.

Wiz Khalifa Graces Cover 2-Of-2 Of

Wiz Khalifa Graces Cover 2-Of-2 Of

The Source’s 2014 Power 30/SOURCE360 Issue

The Power 30/SOURCE360 issue also marks a great time for The Source, as we prep for

The SOURCE360 Weekend (Sept. 19-21), which will be 3 days jam packed with panels,

showcases, expos and our SOURCE360 Concert at The Barclays Center.  It’ll be a 100%

total Hip-Hop culture experience that you just can’t miss, and we invite you to have

a look at the full details including ticket pricing, info, and a SOURCE360 program

schedule on www.source360.com (http://www.thesource360.com/www.source360.com (http://www.thesource360.com/) .  In addition to that,

we have our annual Power 30, Digital 30 and Radio 30 lists that break down the top

30 movers and shakers in Hip-Hop, from rappers-slash-execs to leaders from every

facet of the culture.  It is an exciting time for everyone, and issue #263 has

something for everyone.

Wiz Khalifa burst onto the scene in 2010 when his Kush & OJ mixtape, for all intents

and purposes, broke the internet. Now, four years later, we find the Pittsburgh

native at the top of his game, ending the summer strong with a smash hit (“We Dem

Boyz”), his first #1 album (Blacc Hollywood), and a highly successful tour (Under

The Influence Of Music). However, Wiz is much more than just a “weed rapper”, he’s

now a full-blown rockstar, and there are very few in the culture that can claim to

have reached his level of star power, appeal and marketability, especially in such a

short time. He’s got two families to commandeer–his Taylor Gang imprint, consisting

of Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign,Chevy Woods and more, and of course his wife Amber Rose,

and his son Sebastian–and a city on his shoulders, yet Wiz seems to be able to do

everything except buckle under the pressure. So, when he exclaims, “We dem boyz/We

makin’ noise, hol’ up!” on his hit single, he really means it.

That being said, Wiz Khalifa is as “power” as Power 30 gets. Our cover asks, “Is

This The Top?”, and it’s a legitimate question. There isn’t much he can’t do, and as

we enter the age of rappers becoming mega-stars and transcending just being popular

on Hip-Hop radio, Wiz Khalifa has certainly inserted himself in the superstar

conversation. The ultimate question is, “what comes next?” He’s here to tell us in

an exclusive interview with The Source/SOURCE360 Chairman L. Londell McMillan, as he

takes a break from his insanely hectic schedule–trust us, we know–to talk about

everything from being a father and being one of the best live performers on the

planet, to how he plans to handle the next phase of his career and being inspired by

“everything that’s moving and living.”

On balancing his career and being a father:

The hardest part is being away from my son at any point in time. I want to spend all

day with him, all night, I want to wake up with him, feed him, teach him everything,

it’s just not humanly possible.

On what it’s like going to a Wiz Khalifa show:

Yea I feel like it’s spiritual for anybody to come to my show or any event in

general, I want my experience to be for people to come and just release and have a

great time,  more of a great time than they expected to have.  The people that are

around the music that you hear, the smell..that everything is real specific. I like

to keep those things around and in order and make sure that they’re all right and

everyone gets the experience that they’re supposed to have. Not just the music, but

the lifestyle and yeah.

On Cam’ron, Eminem’s The Source cover:

My favorite rapper of all time is Cam’ron.  And one of my favorite Source covers is

the one with Eminem, where I think he had a chainsaw or something in his hands, but

I remember being able to see a tattoo on his arm, that was really, really detailed

well.  And that was maybe in ’99 or 2000.

On his musical inspirations:

I remember like Bob Marley, he listened to a lot of Prince, he really listened to

everything my dad’s music was like a wide range, all the hits all the classics. He

still puts me onto stuff, I mean when I was doing Kush & Orange Juice the reason I

did David Ruffin for the cover was because of my dad. I mean I knew The Temptations,

everyone knows The Temptations but my dad had really showed me David Ruffin’s solo

career, and the stuff he was doing, we sat down and we listened to those records and

it was just like a spiritual thing, and I was able to like put that on to the world

as well.

Be sure to pick up your copy of the 2014 Power 30/SOURCE360 issues when it hits

newsstands, coming soon, and get ready for the #SOURCE360, coming to brooklynnext

Music Fan Arrested for Posting @Exodus Lyrics

Fan Arrested for Posting Lyrics:

EXODUS Releases Statement Regarding Man Arrested for Posting “Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)” Lyrics

There has been an unfortunate situation that has come to the band’s attention.  A fan in Greenville, Kentucky has been arrested and is currently being jailed for alleged terroristic threats for posting the lyrics to the EXODUS song ‘Class Dismissed’.

The band EXODUS does not promote or condone terrorists, threats or bullying. That being said, the band is somewhat baffled by the fact that this man being charged for what seems against his first amendment rights of Freedom of Speech.

Follow this link for more information on the arrest: http://www.14news.com/story/26431395/lyrics-posted-on-facebook-lead-to-arrest-of-muhlenberg-co-man

“The idea that an individual in this great country of ours could be arrested for simply posting lyrics to a song is something I never believed could happen in a free society,” states EXODUS guitarist Gary Holt. “James Evans was simply posting lyrics to a band he likes on Facebook, and he was locked up for it. The song ‘Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)’ was written as a view through the eyes of a madman and in no way endorses that kind of fucked up behavior. It was the Virginia Tech massacre perpetrated by Seung-Hui Cho that was the subject and inspiration to write the song, one in which we put the brakes on playing it live after the Sandy Hook shooting, as we did not want to seem insensitive.”

Gary continues, “As some of us in EXODUS are parents, of course these things hit close to home, it’s every parent’s worst fear. These moments are the stuff of nightmares, and life, as well as music, isn’t always pretty. But when we start to overreact to things like lyrics by any band, including EXODUS, and start arresting people, we are caving in to paranoia and are well on our way to becoming an Orwellian society.”

Look for the forthcoming EXODUS album, entitled Blood In, Blood Out, coming October 14, 2014 via Nuclear Blast Records. Also, catch EXODUS on the road with Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies this fall.
