October 14, 2014 - MINNEAPOLIS, MN

Music icon Prince returns to the SNL stage on November 1st marking his third time as musical guest.  The evening also marks former SNL cast member Chris Rock’s return as host.

The November 1st performance promises to be one for the record books and will feature his band, 3RDEYEGIRL (Guitarist Donna Grantis, drummer Hannah Ford Welton and bassist Ida Nielsen).

This is the first television performance from Prince since the release of his two chart-topping albums, ART OFFICIAL AGE and PLECTRUMELECTRUM, on September 30th.  ART OFFICIAL AGE, Prince’s solo album, bowed in at #1 on Billboard’s R&B Chart while PLECTRUMELECTRUM, featuring Prince’s new band 3RDEYEGIRL, debuted at #1 on the Rock Chart, making Prince the first artist in over a decade to debut two albums in the Top 10 at the same time.  The New York Times declared, “Prince at his best doesn’t just collect and recreate genres; he smashes them together.”

2014 has been one of the most exciting years yet for the prodigious musical talent.  The two new studio albums marked a historic return to Warner Bros. Records, Prince’s original label home.  The renewed partnership came after the announcement that Warner Bros. Records returned to Prince the master recordings of his pioneering ’80s albums, including Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain and Sign ‘O’ the Times.  In April, NPG Music Publishing was launched, marking the first time Prince’s vast publishing catalog has been independently controlled and administered in over twenty years.   In the live arena, together with 3RDEYEGIRL, Prince rocked UK and European audiences into a frenzy with his sell-out ‘Hit & Run’ tours, generating some of the most significant critical acclaim of his career.  The Guardian declared, “These are performances by one of the greatest funk-rock bands ever.”  All of this in addition to headlining and curating the Essence Festivalon July 4th in New Orleans and a much talked about appearance on hit TV show 'New Girl'.  2014 has underlined that Prince continues to innovate and surprise, thrilling his fans and welcoming a whole new audience in the process.

#TWELVEFOOTNINJA ADD HEADLINING SHOWS TO U.S. TOUR AND RELEASE NEW BEHIND-THE-SCENES VIDEO

30+ DATES NOW CONFIRMED FOR “BLACK WIDOW TOUR” WITH

IN THIS MOMENT, STARSET, AND 3 PILL MORNING

BEGINNING THIS OCTOBER 26th!

Los Angeles, CA - October 15, 2014 - Twelve Foot Ninja, one of Australia’s hottest, most innovative, and experimental new bands have added several show dates to their upcoming U.S. tour with In This Moment, Starset, and 3 Pill Morning. The bands will hit the road this fall and winter with the tour officially kicking off October 26thTickets are on sale now. Twelve Foot Ninja have also added two headlining dates that include the Palladium Theatre in Worcester, MA on November 16 and The Studio at Webster Hall in New York City on November 19. With 36 dates now confirmed, Twelve Foot Ninja is supporting the recent stateside re-release of their critically acclaimed debut album Silent Machine (Volkanik Music). Earlier this year, the band took home the prestigious “Best New Talent” award at the sixth annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards.

"The U.S. has been really great to us so far and we’re pumped to come back with In This Moment, Starset, and 3 Pill Morning," said guitarist Steve ‘Stevic’ MacKay. "We’ve been hibernating in the studio since the last U.S. tour so we’re itching to hit the stage and we’re ready to unleash."

Twelve Foot Ninja have also released a new ‘behind-the-scenes’ video featuring footage the band filmed backstage, on stage, in the pit, and everywhere in between while out on the road during their most recent North American tours. MacKay adds “We took some GoPros with us on the last two North American tours. You might spot some of the dudes from Periphery, Dead Letter Circus and Born of Osiris. We had a lot of awesome shows especially Rock On The Range this year, but we should note it’s not all waterslides and drinking… there’s a lot of showerless days and crippling hangovers.” Along with Rock on the Range, the band has been winning over thousands of fans at festivals with their explosive live performances at Welcome to RockvilleCarolina Rebellion, and Rocklahoma cementing a cult-like following on the back of their brand of alternative rock.

The debut single from Silent Machine, “Coming For You,” has surpassed more than 1,000,000 YouTube views. Check out the video now online at: http://youtu.be/-ST85Sui43Q. Widely praised by audiences and critics alike for their ability to combine juxtaposing genres seamlessly, “Coming For You” is the perfect embodiment of this.

In conjunction with the album re-release (featuring two acoustic bonus tracks), the band has bundled a special edition of Silent Machine with a 72-page full-color companion comic book containing 12 individual narratives inspired by the 12 songs featured on Silent MachineThe band collaborated with acclaimed comic artist Keith Draws to produce the comics, which are based on the original Twelve Foot Ninja fable co-written by guitarist Steve ‘Stevic’ Mackay. The story chronicles a sole ninja’s mission to restore balance in a world headed toward a self-inflicted apocalypse. The special edition CD/comic book bundle can now be purchased exclusively at their online store.

Often classified as heavy fusion or progressive hard rock but whatever genre you call them, Twelve Foot Ninja are known for their seamless genre hopping, soaring melodies over heavy rock, and witty music videos - they take an authentic approach to each style and tie it all together to deliver an inimitable sonic flavor. Stamped with a five-star review by Blunt MagazineSilent Machine has been described as “reggae, Fate of Nations-era Robert Plant rock, space-rock, djent, Queensrychean hard rock and more, yet they somehow manage to tie it all together without sounding too ADHD…if you loved Faith No More’s King for a Day, you’ll feel right at home in this Silent Machine.”

Twelve Foot Ninja is Kin on vocals, Steve ‘Stevic’ MacKay on guitar, Damon McKinnon on bass, Shane ‘Russ’ Russell on drums, and Rohan Hayes on guitar.

In honor of the US Armed Forces this Veterans Day, Battlecross will make a limited number of tickets to VET TIX so that local members of the military may attend a show in their city at no cost. The band will also be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sale of a limited edition tour shirt to a local veteran’s charity, and chose a Veteran in each market for a VIP experience. On Veteran’s Day (November 11th) fans can nominate a friend or family member who has served our country and share their story and photo, with a member of the military being chosen to win a Guitar and more at the end of the tour. On the same day, the band will also bring back merchandise from their first Metal Blade album ‘Pursuit of Honor' in their official merch store, with a portion of proceeds to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project, a veterans service organization that offers a variety of programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001.

Guitarist Hiran Deraniyagala adds: “We won’t let a cancelled tour stop Battlecross from performing for our fans and the Winter Warriors Tour with Wretched and War of Ages is the perfect way to remind our fans that you keep moving forward when challenges come up in life. Who knows perseverance more than those who bravely serve our country and we are honored to dedicate this tour to them. We are a band that stands for ideals such as loyalty, honor, sacrifice and perseverance through our lyrics and how we conduct ourselves, and hope the tour will be a fitting tribute to every service member who attends. We look forward to raging with our fans who serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and thank them again for their service.

THE DEFILED Perform A Full Show On A Floating Iceberg in Kulusuk, Greenland;

Video Now Available!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
OCTOBER 15, 2014

A gigantic Iceberg has been turned into the most unlikely of gig venues in the Greenland Sea, as UK metal band The Defiled (Nuclear Blast Records) performed on top of the floating platform for the Jägermeister Ice Cold Gig – which sees artists put to the test as they perform in unconventional, ice cold conditions.

Check out the full video now at the link below
http://youtu.be/G0BUVYnZvX8

Braving freezing temperatures and fast flowing ice, the group performed the special set to a host of locals from the nearby town of Kulusuk, who ventured out to the ice field to watch this once-in-a-lifetime experience from an array of fishing boats and leisure craft.

As an internationally touring band and part of the Jägermusic program, The Defiled are used to spending long stretches on the road together, which helped prepare them for the unusual nature of this tour. Flying from the UK to Iceland, the group then transferred to the island town of Kulusuk, Greenland, before trekking over-land and sea to their base on the neighbouring island Tasiilaq which has a population of just over 2000 inhabitants.

Prior to taking to the icy-stage, Frontman Stitch D, along with keyboard player The AvD, bassist Vincent Hyde and drummer Needles spent time getting to meet local musicians and watching them perform their own traditional music, before inviting them and other residents to come and witness their unique one-off performance.  Renowned for their distinctively dark and imposing on-stage dress – which provided a stunning visual contrast to the bright white ice cold surroundings – The Defiled played a 30 minute set featuring tracks from their latest album Daggers.

Stitch D said, “This has to be one of the most insane gigs we’ve ever played! You see these things on TV documentaries but it’s not until you get to see them in real life that you realise just how big and amazing icebergs are. Although it was cold, I don’t think any of us noticed once we got started as the stage location literally takes your breath away.”

.#ARCH ENEMY and #KREATOR announce split 7” for upcoming North American tour

This October/November, metal icons ARCH ENEMY will be returning to North American soil to tour in support of their new, critically acclaimed album, War Eternal! To celebrate this momentous headlining trek, the band will be releasing a split 7” with KREATOR, who are direct support on the run. Available starting at the Baltimore show on October 23, be sure to purchase this exclusive transparent red 7” (limited to 500 copies) at the merch table; a dark red 7” (limited to 500 copies) will also be available on KREATOR and ARCH ENEMY’s European tour, which sees ARCH ENEMY as direct support.

ARCH ENEMY/KREATOR split 7” track-listing:
Side A (ARCH ENEMY)
1. Breaking The Law (JUDAS PRIEST cover)
Side B (KREATOR)
1. Iron Destiny

ARCH ENEMY’s Michael Amott (guitar) comments: ”Super excited about the upcoming tours in Europe and USA with KREATOR, and it’s really cool to have this split vinyl 7” coming out to celebrate the extreme metal party of the year! Covering the JUDAS PRIEST classic ‘Breaking The Law’ is obviously not the most original idea, but this is a heavily rearranged version that sounds very ARCH ENEMY, and anyhow there’s no denying that the mighty PRIEST is a great influence on ARCH ENEMY…Enjoy this unique and limited KREATOR/ARCH ENEMY release and see you on the road!”

KREATOR’s Mille Petrozza (vocals, guitar) comments: "Finally, after all these years, ARCH ENEMY and KREATOR not only tour together, but will also release a split single! I have always been a fan of this stuff since these are special little collector’s items. We chose the song ‘Iron Destiny’ for this. Lyrically this is a tribute to the early days of the band, the days when we were young metal-heads, discovering the music that we still love to this day. KREATOR is looking forward to this run and we hope to see all of you!"

ARCH ENEMY is currently touring the world in support of War Eternal, which was hailed as the band’s "strongest album in years" (DECIBEL MAGAZINE). To purchase War Eternal, head over to iTunes or AmazonMP3 for a digital copy with a bonus track; a variety of physical formats is also available at CM Distro and your local retailer.

.#GREENDAY INCLUDED AMONG 2015 NOMINEES UP FOR INDUCTION INTO ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

GREEN DAY INCLUDED AMONG 2015 NOMINEES UP FOR INDUCTION INTO ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

BAND CELEBRATES 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF DIAMOND-SELLER DOOKIEAND 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF LANDMARK CLASSIC AMERICAN IDIOT

October 9th, 2014 - Green Day are among the 2015 nominees up for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it was announced today.

The 2015 inductees are chosen by a secret ballot of over 600 individual voters consisting of all past inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, musicians, historians, critics and members of the music industry. To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. Green Day becomes eligible for the first time this year with the April 1989 release of their debut EP 1,000 Hours.

"Wow! Time flies. It’s hard to believe it’ll be 25 years since we released some of our first music," says Armstrong. "We are honored to be considered for inclusion in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, along with many of our heroes."

Green Day have attended the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony twice, the first time in 2002 when they performed as part of The Ramones’ induction. In 2012, they opened the show with a performance of “Letterbomb” and vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong helped induct Guns N’ Roses.

This year, Green Day, which is Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool, are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 1994 breakout album Dookie, which is the band’s best-selling album, having sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and earning Green Day its first Grammy® Award for Best Alternative Music Performance and Diamond Award from the RIAA. In addition, the band’s landmark album American Idiot celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Released on September 20th, 2004, American Idiotdebuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, spawned five hit singles, earned seven Grammy® nominations (winning two, including Best Rock Album), and raised the bar for modern rock and roll.

Green Day were kids from working-class backgrounds who came of age in the underground punk scene in Berkeley, California. Even though they had released two records prior (1039 / Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk), they announced their arrival with Dookie. Over the years, Green Day has continued to top the charts with their subsequent studio albums, which in addition to those mentioned above, include Insomniac, NimrodWarning21st Century BreakdownGreen Day ¡Uno!, Green Day ¡Dos!, and Green Day ¡Tré! They are one of the world’s best-selling groups of all time, having sold more than 75 million albums and singles worldwide.
