MTV’S “ARTIST TO WATCH” ECHOSMITH

WILL BE
FEATURED ON NEW SEASON OF AWKWARD

April 22, 2014 - L.A. alt-pop gem Echosmith will be featured in the new season of MTV’s hit comedy series Awkward, which premiered its highly-anticipated 4thseason on Tuesday, April 15. The band will have their music showcased throughout the season, culminating with Echosmith at the centerpiece of an upcoming storyline. VisitSeventeen.com for all the details about Echosmith’s involvement with Awkward. You can tune in to Awkward on MTV Tuesdays at 10/9pm CST.

2014 is proving to be a huge year for the quartet. Their incredible performance at the MTV Woodie Awards at SXSW had Entertainment Weekly saying, “Of all the bands looking to make noise on the Woodies, though, Echosmith seemed most ready to break out.” Now they’re gearing up to be one of the most anticipated acts at this summer’s Warped Tour. Echosmith was featured in the most recent season of Fuse’s “Warped Roadies” and were also a Fuse Favorite artist in February.

Echosmith’s single "Cool Kids" is gaining huge traction at radio, with continued early support in breakout market Nashville’s WRLT, while Los Angeles’ Alt 98.7 has named “Cool Kids” as this week’s “Best  New Song of the Year…This Week.”

The Sierota siblings - Jamie (vocals/guitar), Sydney (vocals/keyboard), Noah(vocals/bass), and Graham (drums)- have been receiving widespread acclaim following the release of their debut album, Talking Dreams, on Oct. 1 of last year.Alternative Press said, “Talking Dreams would make great listening for an impressionable young person-but it’s not for kids only,” while Seventeen is lauding Sydney’s “stunning voice,” and Huffington Post has described them as “awesome and polished.” According to PopCrush, “If they are not on your radar yet, they should be,” and with the way 2014 is going, they will be soon.

WHITECHAPEL Announce ‘Mono’ YouTube Vocal Cover Contest

Our Endless War Available April 29th on Metal Blade Records

Returning with the fifth full-length of their decimating career, there is no stopping the juggernaut that is WHITECHAPELOur Endless War is the culmination of everything the Knoxville, Tennessee sextet have worked toward since their inception. A ruthlessly honed album that refuses to compromise on brutality, it is also by far their most streamlined, atmospheric, and emotionally powerful release, pushing every aspect of their sound to the next level.

In conjunction with the release of Our Endless WarWHITECHAPEL have created an online contest with their new single “Mono”. Vocalist Phil Bozeman has a video message for fans that are interested and would like to enter the contest, which can be viewed HERE. The object of the contest is that fans will film themselves doing a vocal cover of the new song “Mono” and then upload their videos to YouTube. The contest ends April 21st and the winner will be announced on April 22nd  and will receive a grand prize package that consists of: 1 Deluxe CD Bundle of Our Endless War, a 30 minute vocal coaching lesson with Phil Bozeman via Skype and their video will be featured on Phil’s YouTube Channel.

Our Endless War will be released April 29th in North America via Metal Blade Records. Listen to the first two singles “Mono” and “The Saw is the Law” and pre-order Our Endless War in exclusive bundle packages at http://www.metalblade.com/whitechapel.

When it came to tracking the album the band considered no one beyond Mark Lewis, who helmed Whitechapel. For the artwork, the band turned again to Aaron Marsh, who suppliedWHITECHAPEL with its stark, arresting imagery, but again they wanted to push things to the next level. With the sound maturing the band felt like the artwork needed to reflect that. A new logo was introduced (the old logo is classic Whitechapel, and that’s not something the band plans on getting rid of) however as the band grows and changes they felt like they needed the logo to represent the maturity of WHITECHAPEL.

Leading up to the release of Our Endless WarWHITECHAPEL have confirmed a string of dates including an appearance at this year’s New England Metal & Hardcore Festival. These dates will being April 16th in Columbus, OH and run through April 27th in Birmingham, AL. These shows feature support from Carnifex, Within the Ruins and Cruelhand. With a career that spans more than five decades, Barry Gibb stands as one of the most prolific singer/songwriter/producers in music history.  As the co-founder and creative leader of “The Brothers Gibb,” better known to the world as The Bee Gees, Barry Gibb along with his brothers Maurice and Robin, represents one of the most successful vocal groups in rock and roll history, having sold more than 200 million albums worldwide.  With their signature vocal style and blending of musical influences, the music of the Bee Gees has crossed all musical genres from Pop and R&B to Country and Rock & Roll, and became the face of a new genre of music when they ushered in the age of Disco with their contributions to 1977’s mega-hit soundtrack for “Saturday Night Live.”  They are the only group in history to have write, produce and record six straight No. 1 hits and have garnered 16 Grammy Award nominations and nine Grammy wins.

Barry Gibb is also a prolific and successful songwriter, and is a fellow of the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.   In 1977, Gibb saw five of his songs simultaneously enter the Top Ten of the Billboard Hot 100, and for one week in March, four of the top five songs were written by him. His songs were No. 1 for 27 out of 37 weeks from 24 December 1977 to 2 September 1978. Gibb also holds a very unusual record, in that he is the only songwriter in history to write four successive US number one hits: in 1978, the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” was replaced at number one by Andy Gibb’s single, “Love Is Thicker Than Water”, followed by the Bee Gees’ “Night Fever” for their longest run, seven weeks. This was then replaced by Yvonne Elliman’s ”If I Can’t Have You”.

As a songwriter Gibb has had No. 1 songs in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s 1990s and 2000s, when “Islands in the Stream” became No. 1 in the UK as the comic relief single for 2009. His songs have been recorded by numerous artists, including Al Green, Wyclef Jean, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Little, Barry Manilow, Olivia Newton-John, Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Nina Simone, Barbra Streisand, Tina Turner, Conway Twitty, Frankie Valli, Luther Vandross and  Dionne Warwick. Gibb has also produced albums for Andy Gibb, Kenny Rogers, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand and Dionne Warwick.
